all is whelmed

I am completely overwhelmed with all the stuff that is going on (starting on my tenure packets, going to freshmen orientation with my baby, coordinating and then going on a camping weekend with a buttload of friends, writing finals, getting back to healthy, healthy, healthy), and with all the stuff that is about to be going on (working on research, developing a course I have to teach in NYC on August 1, getting said freshmen packed up and moved out) that I have just failed miserably at being a blogger, let alone a good blogging friend. I partially blame my move to Reader...I read on my iPhone, but commenting is a pain from the Reader on the IPhone so I just don't. Plus, I think I offended a blogger that I really like, and I am pretty bummed about that, so in the style of being a pouty baby I just quit blogging all together.

I hope I haven't lost all readers, and I really do want to get back with it...I miss you guys, I just am really out of it. I really want to catch up with all of you, and to tell you the story of how I taught my class for.an.hour. with my fly open. FLY. OPEN. Thank god Bea shamed me into new panties...at least they were cute and pink. I also saw The Hangover, and have to say I am so ashamed that I laughed the entire.movie. It is bad people. Awful. So fucking funny. AND, I lost 2 lbs, so am on the cusp of losing new weight this week.

I now have horrendous cramps and am going to bed. sob. sob. whine.

I love reading your blog. And I don't know what you said or did to offend whomever you offended, but you know what...? Only they can choose to be offended, and only they can choose to be un-offended. Apologise if you need to, but move on, because after you've apologised if they're still shitty; it's about them. Not you.

I loved Hangover - and you're right, the funniest stuff was so bad, but I cracked up! Can we download the Tiger Song from iTunes yet?

Sorry you're still so overwhelmed. Gotta love it (sarcasm) when EVERYTHING hits at once. Just curious, what do you think you did to offend a reader? And are we supposed to worry about that on our blogs? Because I don't - should I??? (Bad blogger am I!)

I'm not only still here, I was watching my bloglines to see if you had posted!!

You are the umpteenth person to say how funny the movie is. I may have to check it out. I'm just worried about the gross out factor. I'm an easy gager. I know, I know, that is an awesome quality to have. I'm just blessed. HAHAHAHA

Pink panties eh? I knew you were SASSY!! How nice of you to share with your whole class. It must be evaluation time?? wink wink!

congrats on the 2lbs. bitch. I don't know what losing new weight means, but it sounds exciting!!

This summer has definitely been very UN relaxing (well since summer technically only started on Sunday I guess really it has been pretty good) and it doesn't seem like it is going to be getting better until ohhh maybe September...

The Hangover was hilarious! I've yet to talk to anyone that didn't enjoy it. In fact, if someone didn't enjoy it, I don't think I can talk to them. Period.
I'm sorry that you may have offended a blogger friend, but by and large we're here when you're here and understand when you're not...anyone who has a job and an actual life knows that blogging can't always come first.
Oh, I probably just offended someone with that comment. Oh well.

I hear thee on all this unrelaxing stuff. Lee and I just look at each other each day and say: we'll get through this. And then we just expect something else to happen...what a sucky attitude, right??

At any rate, keep blogging! I laugh out loud at your blogs. Whoever you offended, well, they'll be the one missing out.

Hope things let up soon--and I'm jealous of a NYC trip!

Who would possibly be offended by you?! You're hysterical! I love your blog, and I wish we lived near each other, b/c I'd love to know you IRL. :)

You lost weight while having CRAMPS?! That's amazing. Usually I balloon up like a mofo when I'm on the rag.

if you've got to be caught w/your fly down, much better to have Sassy Panties at the time! :-)

The best thing about blogger buddies (with readers!) is that they are always there when you come back. Take the time you need!

Everyone keeps saying the Hangover is so funny! I will have to put it in our Netflix queue so we can watch it when it comes out!

What is up with this summer NOT BEING RELAXING AT ALL? Yes, I AM YELLING, because I am entirely fed up with it. Hope things let up soon. How fun to have a NYC trip coming up! And YAY on the weight loss!

dude, i've been in a similar boat (as in not blogging/reading/commenting) and have felt like a douche canoe for it. and why is it that every damn time you or your sister say something about a blogger i immediately wonder if you're talking about me? yeah, i know, i'm screwed up. i'm glad you had pretty panties to show the class though : )

I've reprioritized for you:
1. commenting on my blog
2. writing amusing posts on your blog
3. reading other peoples' blogs
4. adding interesting links to your blog
5. seeing friends
6. raising children
7. earning living

Clearly you have already taken the reprioritization to heart since you commented on my blog. :-)

Seriously, though, it sounds like a good time to strive for maintenance and maybe try to be healthy instead of healthy, healthy, healthy. Get lots of good sleep and some nourishing food and a l'il exercise to support yourself during the stressful 5 weeks.

First, sometimes we have to chalk up that life gets in the way of blogging. It's ok to take those kinds of breaks. Just let us know you're doing OK from time to time and we'll keep waiting.

Second, you're bound to offend people from time to time - in real life and on your blog. If you think you made a mistake, remedy it. But, if you stand by what you say, then both you and your friend will have to agree to disagree. There's nothing wrong with that kind of compromise.

Finally, I look forward to the day you're ready to blog again. Just knock some of those to-do's off your list before you add blogging back on!
