10,000 meters

So I have briefly mentioned in the midst of all my angst regarding my booty, my job, and my lack of coordination when putting on clothing that I am going to be running in a 10K in just over one month. What is super awesome about this 10K is that it combines jogging which I have just recently come to love, with my longtime lover...Christmas lights.

So, I want to create awesomely fun Holiday play list to listen to whilst I run through here so that I can become so obnoxiously into the run and the holidays that I can barely stand myself.

As far as training for the 10, 000 meters...I picked an easy, peasy plan from Running Planet. I am in the midst of week 3. So far, so good. My goal for this run is to fit into the Nike running pants I bought on clearance a few weeks ago (so far, no fit) and jog the entire way.

After that, I will start working towards this run. yikes, a half marathon seems crazy long...but the Rome 2012 Marathon is not going to run itself, and I refuse to be the only person out of our foursome that doesn't finish!

Okay, so back to the purpose of this post....think hard....tell me your all time favorite holiday song...hold on, hold on....favorite holiday song that you could exercise to!

Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree!
oh, and sorry if I steal thunder, but also Let It Snow. Is that the name of that song? Well, you get the idea. They're not my holiday faves but I could definitely exercise to them.

I'm very excited too. Can you listen to your iPod during the race? I assumed you could not.

My favorite Christmas song is Grandma got Runover by a Reindeer and Elf.

Penny...I am not completely sure, one thing I read was that the music for the lights would be playing during the run.

What song is Elf?

Mannheim Steamroller! Or Transsiberian Orchestra! They have fun and upbeat Christmas music.

That half marathon location looks great! How did you pick it?

The whole movie is my favorite Christmas song.

Tee hee. You funny.
I think Carol of the Bells would be good for running b/c of the energy of the song.
I love O Holy Night, but can't really imagine running to it!

I like that U2 song that goes BAAAABY please come home, BAAAABY please come home, but now I can't remember the rest of it.

And I like Santa Baby.

I love Christmas music. I'm one of those people who listens to it 24/7 from Thanksgiving to Christmas.
I like Carol of the Bells and Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer. And the Alvin and the Chipmunks song. I'm a dork, I know.
That 1/2 marathon race looks nice. You can do, no problem. You'll be ready by then. It's quite a trek from here in central FL, or else I would consider it.

Allow me to introduce you to Brave Combo's album: "It's Christmas Man!" AWESOME. 'Must Be Santa' is a personal fave. This is a band we fell in love with while in college. They're grammy award winning polka band, but they really do all kinds of music. Yeah, I know. Sounds weird. But check it out.

And can I say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas lights and really all things Christmas? Lee and I always scheme about how early we can decorate...I'm thinking mid-November is acceptable.

I'm sorry about all the crap that's going on at your job. That really sucks, I hope it all works out!!
I love a version of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" that the Barenaked Ladies did with Sarah McClocklin (can't spell her name). It's very catchy!
