I lost 3.2...

OUNCES when I weighed in yesterday. Yup, .2lbs. I have an Excel spreadsheet that tracks my weight lost, percentage of starting weight lost (so I can report my Fat Test score, 83.94% by the way), fat%, and BMI. I was perusing it yesterday when I was inputting my new information, and I realized that I broke into my current weight decade on April 20. For all of you not so fast at date math, that was SIX MONTHS AGO.

I took 6 months to lose 10 pounds. What is interesting to me is that I have no desire to quit trying. I am okay if it goes at a snail's pace, because you know what? Snails eventually get where they are going. This is a brand new feeling...the last real concerted effort I made losing weight I ditched when I was stagnant for a month, when I was 20lbs lighter than I am right.now.

The difference? My goals. My motivation. I want to get HEALTHY so that I can do more things. I want to run races. Not RACE races, but RUN in races. 5K this Saturday, a 10K in November. 1/2 marathon in March. Marathon in 2012. I like to run. I love the way running makes me feel confident and athletic and even pretty. I want to start kayaking because that looks super fun and just another excuse to be in and around water. Plus Mr. P wants to kayak, and I don't like to be left behind!

All kinds of other stuff is going on, it is almost too overwhelming to write about all at once, so I need to break it up into manageable posts...but I leave you now to enjoy a super healthy dinner cooked for me by Mr. P and served to Biggest Loser. YUM.

A loss is a loss!
I love it that your motivation has changed.
I finally followed your advice and did spaghetti squash for pasta and I am ADDICTED. It is so freakin' delish and only 40 calories a cup. Take that pasta!
And right now, cooking in the oven, butternut squash enchiladas. Oh man. I am STARVING.

Kayaking is fun, even though I suck at it.

Wow, I am so proud of you!!! Your attitude is RIGHT ON and I love where this post went. I was expecting you to be frustrated and that was not the case at all, which is exactly as it should be! Woo hoo, Hotch Potch!

I love your attitude about your weight loss - I like the snail analogy. Your goals are awesome and I agree with you about the way running makes me feel.
And the cereal cravings - it's a total carbaholic thing. Some women crave chocolate, I crave cereal.

the good thing about doing it slow is that your skin has time to adjust to the changes and bounce back.....

congrats on your loss!

oh, and pick up some weights woman - I want company!!!

I'm a snail too. I track my weight also and I like seeing that graph line do a long but downward descent. Thank you for commenting on my blog.

I love your attitude. All the experts say that weight lost a little at a time is more likely to stay off. So, take your time and enjoy the ride!!!

Yay! It's so hard not to feel like it's not working if it's slow and steady. But my weight GAIN is slow and steady, and THAT sure adds up!

I think the biggest change for me is considering this a lifetime change and not somehthing that has a definite end date.
